11th January. A trip to Fleet Pond to see what was around. A nice day with reasonable light but cold with ice on the pond. A few photos of the birds skating

14th January. A good year for waxwings and I tried a place in Farnham where they had been seen. Today, my 3rd attempt to see them and finally they turned up whilst I was there. It was very grey with poor light initially, but for a brief time the sun broke through with beautiful light. They only stayed for a few minutes whilst the sun was out before moving on, but managed to get this photo. Shame the berries are in the way!

This is a waxwing I took in January 2013 (the very early days of my photography) which was the previous good year for waxwings in the south of England

16th May. I have been watching the fox family that comes to our garden daily and they appear to have a family somewhere nearby. I have put the trail camera out and captured a cub in early May at the bottom of our garden.

Thereafter I saw a cub regularly but only 1 - until 14th May when suddenly 2 were spotted together. Sometimes they were seen playing in the garden.

16th May - I managed to capture the vixen and her cub on my camera

18th May. There is a lot of activity in our garden with the birds nesting. The blue tits had a nest behind the greenhouse and have fledged and the female blackbird continues to follow me around the garden hoping for some mealworms. The great tits were found to be nesting in a bird box by the seating area behind the garage. It is very close to where we sit and I was a bit concerned we may put them off going into their box, but they didn't seem bothered and continually flew over our heads into their nest to feed their young.

And of course they also found an easy meal with the mealworms

The sparrows also decided to get in on the act and would flock after me wherever I went

7th June. Despite having lots of activity in our garden with the foxes, I am unable to get many photos, especially of the cubs, as they don't always visit until after twilight when the light is not great. I decided to visit a hide to observe and photograph foxes in their natural environment in the wild.

Saturday 8th July

Recently we have noted the red kites flying over our house frequently and one can often be seen sitting in the tree at the bottom of our garden

Monday 22nd July

The start of Farnborough airshow and decided to photograph the planes again. It is no where as good as it used to be, but you do still get some jets flying, but do need to get nearer to the airfield now to get a good view.

First up was the F-15

11th August

This morning I awoke to find a vixen sleeping in our garden. When she saw me she woke and had a stretch before moving on.
