November 2015 - I was following a pair of kestrels when the male suddenly landed on the branch with the female. He stayed only a short time before flying off and this is just one of the 2 photos I managed to take in that time

November 2015 - Shortly after the previous photo was taken, the female disappeared into the trees. I wandered over to the trees and then looked up. I saw her looking at me just above me and then she suddenly swooped onto the ground and caught a vole.

August 2016 - A photo of the little owl very early one morning, I arrived about 05.00. I was alone sitting down watching him, or her, hunting, appearing to be happy with me being there. He paused on this branch for a while before continuing with his hunting.

August 2016 - I was following a family of little owls for several weeks and frequently saw the 2 youngsters together in the tree, but not always without branches and leaves in the way.

2016 - I was watching a family of little owls on the morning of the hottest day in September in 2016. This owl was only a few feet away from me and suddenly stretched out on a branch, I assume to cool down. A magical moment until someone walked straight in front of me and scared it away

Sunrise on 15th May 2018, Bushy Park. I was watching some wrens in the bracken when I heard a commotion behind me. I turned around to see this swan seeing off the other swan. I quickly tried to photograph the action, but I was now looking into the sun and didn't have time to change the settings.

July 2018 - I found a family of kestrels and was able to watch the young learn to hunt. This young kestrel was hunting on the ground for dragonflies and other small animals. I was alone at the time and quietly laid down on the ground. This one came quite close to me to allow me to get this shot.

July 2018 - It was a very hot day and I was about to leave when I spotted this kestrel bathing in the pond. I decided to hang around as I knew she would be preening and drying her feathers after this encounter.

July 2018 - I sat on a bench close to the pond and was lucky the kestrel landed on a tree guard just a few feet away. I spent about 30 minutes watching her preening and drying her feathers.

July 2018 - Almost done, time to stretch

July 2018 - All clean and dry and now hunting for dinner. Unfortunately, this was taken into the sun, so not a great photo, but a fabulous experience and a privilege to watch from a relatively short distance. I hope to go back to see if this kestrels are still there next year.
